Walks

The Promenade and beach are about a mile distant from The Manse, offering different but equally beautiful routes for walking and cycling. The Promenade extends for approximately four miles from the west (foot of the South Downs and Beachy Head) to the east (Sovereign Harbour). There are also many cliff paths to explore.  

The Manse is very well situated for walking and enjoying being outdoors, with stunning coastal countryside nearby. The South Downs National Park and the South Downs Way can be easily accessed from The Manse. Entry points are about half a mile distant from The Manse, offering wonderful walks and cycle routes to suit everyone whatever the season or weather.

For those who prefer it, there are shorter walks in and around Eastbourne and the surrounding countryside. Eastbourne also has several beautiful Parks and Gardens for a leisurely stroll, one of the best being Gildredge Park and Manor Gardens, just literally over the road from The Manse.

Bus and train travel can be incorporated conveniently into your plans if required, as The Manse is only five minutes walk away from the stop for the bus which serves the Coast, Downland or Friston Forest and the Cuckmere Valley (just to the west of the town) or ten minutes from the the train station, both with frequent services.
